A very bright, clear and sunny day (though fairly chilly and breezy); my housemate and I wanted to go out on our bikes so we did the Irwell Valley route again that I did last November with my colleagues. This time the two of us started at the car park a little further up the route, by the Irwell, so we rode slightly less than last time - but in the mud that wasn't a problem! We ended up being very muddy (not totally surprising) and I was a bit worn out (just the exercise, I think!) but it was enjoyable and not too knackering, fortunately. Probably did us good, too!

My rear wheel slipped down its rear fork slightly during the ride, but that was about the only excitement of the trip; there were lots of people with dogs, plenty of cyclists (who overtook whilst I was fixing the wheel!), several people on horses and generally I was impressed at the number of people who were out and about enjoying the day. After all, it was a nice, clear, crisp day - very nice.
