It was a prayer day at work today (with Martin Smith and Stu G of Delirious) so I got home a bit earlier than usual; it was a lovely day and looked like it'd be a nice evening so I thought I'd go out for a pootle on my bike round the water park. I forgot that a) it's difficult to cross the A56 on a bike (in either direction, and it was the rush hour!) and b) I don't like off-road surfaces. The trackways and paths down the Mersey are fairly compacted surfaces but very rubbly/stony/bumpy and although the trip to Jackson's bridge was OK, on the way back it was a bit... bumpy and difficult. For me, at any rate. Ah well.

Oh yes, and it was fairly dry, but with muddy patches. Got back a bit splattered, but that's to be expected I suppose! Also got back more knackered than I 'should' have been for a 5m ride, but again I think that was due to the bumpiness of the trackways.

Also, stupidly, I forgot to take any liquid with me so I was really thirsty by the time I returned.

Still, a very pleasant way to spend an hour of an evening - it was warm, but not hot, and the water park and Mersey looked really very nice. It seemed to be only me, other cyclists (probably commuters) and joggers out and about tonight!
