Went down to see a friend in Basingstoke last weekend, and we went out on our bikes to the north of the town (because south is a bit more hilly!). Tonnes of blackberries were consumed on the way, and it was a pleasant ride taking in the 'delights' of Chineham business park - Bramley - Silchester and the Roman remains - Stratford upon Saye - Newnham Green and back to Basingstoke.
Was a really good day - I enjoy cycling with good company - and although I didn't even begin to stretch my friend at all (he's the ultra fit regular cyclist type) it was a good day; my second longest-in-a-day ride, and a not-disgraceful average speed. It's not so long ago that I remember cycling with him and struggling to do a handful of miles!
