I've not been out on my bike for a while - a couple of weeks ago I did a quick trip to the Trafford Centre after redoing my brakes and brake outers, but due to gigs (and going out on the RIB with tim in Conwy on Sunday) and stuff I've not been out since. Consequently, it was a lieu day and so I wanted to do something if nothing important. I decided to cycle to Aria in Longsight, partly because it was somewhere to go to but also because I decided to upgrade my laptop's memory (which didn't work, but that's by the by).

I cycled down the now familiar Fallowfield loop line to the junction with the A6 at the south of Longsight, then travelled up through the Longsight area. There's a gradual incline that I've mentioend before from here to there; it wore me out a little but I suppose it was doing me good. As an aside, I didn't realise quite how undulating Longsight is! It's up and down all over the place! I cycled back through Longsight and Victoria Park, past some of the University Halls of Residences (including Dalton Ellis, where I spent a lot of my student time, and to EBC who have a new Manchester shop. It all looks very spangly - I didn't actually go in as I didn't really need anything and didn't fancy the faff of locking my bike or anything.

Anyway, from EBC I went across Whitworth Park to Hulme's ASDA, and back home again via the long and straight (and reasonably traffic free) King's Road, which was good - I noticed I naturally got my speed up going down there so I think I regained the slight gradient from earlier - plus I'd had a bit of lunch in ASDA and my legs had decided finally to copoperate.

The journey was never going to break any records but it was a nice way of going 'somewhere' through areas I was familiar with. It got my heart pumping a bit which is only a good thing, I suppose!
